Student Activities
Poquoson Elementary offers a variety of extra curricular activities. Students are selected for most of the activities through an interest lottery or tryouts (depending on the club). Students are required to obtain their own transportation home as busses are not provided. Students from all grades have the opportunity to turn in interest forms in the fall of each year.
Battle of the Books is a great local competition organized through our Media Center. Students read from a list of books, discuss and answer detailed questions about what they read, and then compete against other schools!
SCA, Student Council Association, is comprised of five 5th grade leaders and a representative from each of Poquoson Elementary School Homeroom who are elected by their classmates to help give voice to the school from the student body. SCA Leaders and Representatives should be strong leaders, respectable, and hard working. These leaders will help develop ideas to foster school spirit, school events, and fundraisers. Check back here for upcoming SCA events.
